Background for selected CAD supplier
When Summit Systems AS was founded, none of the major CAD vendors in mechanical industry even established in Norway, Summit Systems AS had, in other words the ability to represent the majority. We opted for SDRC I-DEAS and that was not the greatest, but the most innovative at the time. With a simple to use interface and a built-PLM solution that made it possible to work with a Master Model concept, the choice was easy. Our competitors start thinking about this now, 20 years later. We quickly became affiliated with NTNU, and has since worked closely how Summit Systems AS helped with the delivery of software and expertise. We have teamed with Norwegian industry adapted for many projects and theses. The partnership has also meant that many of our employees come from NTNU. We are constantly looking to strengthen our ties with the Norwegian education environment, so to increase the supply of qualified engineers in the market.

Summit Systems AS was also a driving force to implement PLM in Norway. We made our first sales in 1998, and has since held a dominant position in this market. This is best demonstrated by the fact that many of our Teamcenter customers Inventor, Pro / E and SolidWorks.
